The Story
Ryan has been in trees since 2013. He started at Lewis Tree Service doing line-clearance work, trimming trees away from power lines across New Jersey and New York. He began as a groundman and worked his way up to running his own crew. In 2016 he joined his dad's excavation company, Gouger Construction, and started building the tree care operation on the side.
By the end of 2021, with the support of his wife Jolene, Ryan bought his own truck and made it official: Gouger's Tree Care. In 2024 he took it full-time. Jolene supports the whole operation, though she might wish for a little less sawdust in the laundry.
The Crew

Ryan is the one who answers the phone and walks your property for the estimate. He came up as a climber and equipment operator himself, and he's built a crew that holds that same standard — he answers for the quality of every job that carries his name.
His voice is what you hear in every Facebook post, in every "CALL US BECAUSE WE CARE!" sign-off, and in every reply to a customer review. The business is him.
The Crew
Ryan doesn't do it alone — there's a full crew behind him, each person with a designated role, working together. Kash is Ryan's dog, a yellow Lab with his own Gouger's Tree Care bandana. He showed up at Pleasant Valley Elementary's trunk-or-treat. He is not a tree removal specialist, but he is a crew member in the broader sense of the word.
The Work
Gouger's Tree Care handles tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding, storm damage cleanup, land clearing, and brush chipping across Monroe County and the Poconos. The equipment includes a 70ft bucket truck, crane capability, a chipper, an Avant articulating wheel loader that picks up to 2,000 pounds, a dump trailer for wood removal — and climbing, roping, and rigging for tight-access jobs where equipment can't get in.
They operate as Gougers Tree Care Inc., a PA-registered Home Improvement Contractor (HIC #PA178687), licensed and insured. Certificate of insurance available on request.
