Tree Removal

You have a tree that needs to come down. Maybe it died over the winter and you caught yourself staring at it during the last windstorm. Maybe it's three feet from your house and your insurance company just sent a letter. Maybe it fell on your shed and you're staring at the mess right now.

Whatever brought you here, Gouger's Tree Care can handle it. Call (570) 620-7631 or request a free estimate below.

What Actually Happens on a Gouger's Tree Care Job

Every job starts with a real plan. We walk the property with you, talk through how the tree comes down, and answer your questions before a single saw comes out.

Then the crew goes to work.

Depending on the tree, the access, and what's nearby, Ryan and the crew use whatever the job calls for:

  • 70ft bucket truck for large canopy trees with open-ish access
  • Crane work for trees over structures or in tight quarters
  • Climbing, roping, and rigging when equipment can't get close enough — they've done 9-tree jobs in tight-access lots with zero damage to the property around them
  • Ground-protection equipment mats under all heavy equipment so your grass stays the way you left it

Kate Benner put it this way after her job: "They had perfected their craft down to a science. Whole job was done in two hours and they didn't leave so much as a leaf on the ground."

That's not a marketing line. That's what the job looks like.

Tight Access Is Not a Problem

The Poconos has tight lots, cabins close together, old trees that grew up through fences and decks, and driveways that barely fit a pickup. Gouger's Tree Care has worked all of it.

One recent job: 2 pines removed from a yard with no equipment access, stumps ground out, grass untouched. Another: a tree that had been built around when the homeowner put up a deck — climbed, rigged, and brought down safely with the deck still standing.

"No access no problem!" is something Ryan has said on more than one Facebook post. It's also something the crew has backed up on every tight-access job they've taken.

What Affects the Cost

Tree removal is not a flat-rate service. Here's what actually changes the price:

Tree size. A 20-foot ornamental and an 80-foot white oak are not the same job. Taller, heavier trees take more time, more equipment, and more staging.

Access. A tree in an open backyard costs less to remove than a tree wedged between a fence, a structure, and a power line. Tight access jobs require climbing and rigging work that takes longer.

What's underneath it. Trees over roofs, pools, and power lines require more precision, more rigging, and more care. That takes time.

Stump. Tree removal includes cutting the tree down to ground level. Stump grinding is a separate service — if you want the stump gone too, ask about bundling it.

Your location in Monroe County. Saylorsburg, Brodheadsville, Kunkletown, Pocono Lake, Effort, Tannersville — all within the regular service area. Farther out? Call and ask.

Insurance-Driven Removal

Some of the jobs Gouger's Tree Care handles are driven by homeowners' insurance requirements, not personal preference. Your insurance company says the tree is too close to the house or too close to the power line, and if it doesn't come down, your coverage is at risk.

Ryan has handled these jobs. He knows what insurance companies are typically looking for, and he can document the work so you have what you need when you talk to your carrier.
